Extended closure of the main road: replacement stops on Erzweg
The city of Ebermannsdorf is informing citizens about an important change in the transport sector. The original plan was to complete the construction work on the main road (AS 23) by the end of September 2024. But now there is a delay affecting the completion of the pedestrian and cycle path as well as the new barrier-free bus stop.
The road closure will therefore be extended until November 6, 2024. During this time, passengers must use the alternative stops on Erzweg. This measure is necessary to ensure the safety of pedestrians and cyclists during construction work.
Details about the construction work
The construction work, which began on June 3, 2024, includes the barrier-free expansion of the bus stop at the new center as well as the construction of a combined pedestrian and cycle path along the main street. The area from upper Bergstrasse to the Waldstrasse entrance will be closed to all vehicle traffic, pedestrians and cyclists. This means that the bus stops have to be moved from the main street to Erzweg.
However, access to Bergstrasse, which leads to the school, remains open at all times. In order to meet the needs of students, two temporary bus stops will be set up in Erzweg, similar to those in 2021.
For the elementary school students at Ebermannsdorf Elementary School, everything remains the same: the departure and arrival times do not change, and the students are dropped off and picked up at school as usual.
However, there is a change for the middle school students at Kümmersbruck Middle School. Since the stops on the main street are no longer available, students will have to get on and off at the replacement stops on Erzweg in the future. However, bus travel times remain unchanged.
Local public transport is also affected. The ZNAS and RBO buses cannot reach the stops on the main road and must also be rerouted via Erzweg. The replacement stops will be set up there and the departure times will remain the same.
