Citizens of Altötting receive a Golden Badge of Honor for outstanding commitment

Four citizens of the city of Altötting will receive the Golden Badge of Honor on November 13, 2024. The award takes place at a city council meeting. First mayorStephan Antwerpwelcomes the honorees in the meeting room of the town hall. It recognizes the outstanding commitment of those honored.

Awards for special merits

Hans Baumgartneris honored for his many years of work in the Altöttinger business association. He has been a member of the association since 1979. He is an advertising consultant and part of the CityCard team. He also took over the Christmas market department for 20 years. The trained advertising specialist regularly makes his recordings available to the public, for example at exhibitions as part of the “Culture in the Town Hall” series.

Stefan Burghartreceives the award for his commitment to various clubs and institutions in Altötting. He has been active in the district Caritas association since 2008. After serving on the board, he took over as chairman of the supervisory board. He is also prefect of the Altötting Marian Men's Congregation and a member of the board of the Altötting Marienwerk. He is also deputy chairman of the business association, board member of the volunteer fire department and member of the board of trustees of the Center for Children and Young People. He is also active as a Goaßlschnalzer in the traditional costume club.

Herbert Hageris honored for his many years of work with the Altöttinger Kapellsingknaben and the girls' choir. He has been artistic director since 2003. He set up a qualifying singing school with an instrumental section. There are now five children's and youth choirs that enrich the cultural life of the district town with numerous performances.

Michael Schoeböckhas been committed to the needs of people with disabilities for 25 years. First he was a representative for the disabled, then a representative for the disabled in the city council and now again a representative for the disabled. He received the Golden Badge of Honor for his commitment to the barrier-free design of the district town, the publication of a guide for the disabled and the initiation of the conference for severely disabled people.

The honorees then sign the district town’s Golden Book.
