Future vision Steindorf: local elections and digital innovations in 2026!

On January 10, 2026, Mayor Paul Wecker and the municipal administration wish the citizens of the Steindorf community a year full of success, happiness and health. These New Year's greetings come at an important time, as local elections are just eight weeks away, during which a new mayor and council will be elected. This event could bring about a change in the local political landscape.

Another positive step for citizens is the introduction of the municipal app “Heimat-Info”, which is already being used by 450 people. The app allows users to view information about community activities and club appointments. It is available for download in the app stores as well as on the website www.heimat-Info.de.

Developments in the community

The community has also initiated broadband expansion. Information sessions have already been held to inform citizens about progress and plans. In the educational area, the kindergarten is being expanded and the process of obtaining offers is currently underway. Groundbreaking for this expansion is scheduled for April.

The ceremonial inauguration of the newly built fire station took place in May 2025, which was accompanied by a church blessing from Pastor Xavier. The purchase of a multi-purpose vehicle for the fire department is planned for 2026. This ensures that the fire department is always well equipped. In addition, the fire service needs plan will be updated to meet current needs.

Construction and development projects

The construction yard was able to put a new multi-purpose vehicle into operation last year, which is used in a variety of ways for the maintenance of green spaces, street cleaning and winter service. Another important project is the provision of building land. The development plan No. 28 “Steindorf-Ost” has become legally binding and the award criteria and prices will be published in the next few weeks. However, it is important to note that only those who take part in the current process have a chance of getting the building land, as previous applications will not be considered.

Another procedure for the development plan No. 31 “Herzog-Wilhelm Straße West” is also being initiated. It is also planned to start a process to create a development plan in Eresried during this electoral period.
