Climate Week 2024: Regional campaigns for sustainable nutrition

The Climate Protection Agency has once again taken part in the Bavarian Climate Week, which takes place from October 11th to 20th, with an exciting program. This initiative by the Bavarian State Ministry for the Environment and Consumer Protection aims to raise awareness of environmentally friendly practices and encourage the population to adopt a more sustainable lifestyle. Under the motto “Simple.Tasty.Climate-friendly”, numerous activities are offered that are both informative and entertaining.

A highlight of the week is the opening on Tuesday, October 15th, which will be led by District Administrator Dr. Klaus Metzger is headed. At this event, the exhibition “Meal for Future” will be presented, which deals with the importance of a climate-friendly diet. Afterwards, Ms. Schwengel-Exner from the Bavarian Consumer Center will give a lecture that offers exciting insights into the topics of the exhibition.

A variety of activities for everyone

Climate Week offers a variety of events that have something for everyone. On Wednesday, October 16th and Friday, October 18th, cooking courses will take place in Aichach and Dasing, which are organized in collaboration with the Aichach-Friedberg adult education center. These courses, called “Climate Friendly Feasting,” aim to show participants how to prepare delicious dishes that are also environmentally friendly.

Another exciting event is the adventure farm tour “From Grain to Bread” on Thursday, October 17th, at the Biolandhof Kreppold. This event, which takes place in cooperation with the Paartal Eco Model Region, gives visitors the opportunity to learn more about the origins of their food and understand the importance of sustainable agriculture.

In addition, the “Meal for Future” exhibition will be accessible free of charge from October 15th to 31st in the foyer of the district office during regular opening hours. This exhibition by the Bavarian Consumer Center offers an excellent opportunity to find out about climate-friendly nutrition and receive practical tips for everyday life.
