End of the year in Mering: Festive review and new perspectives!
On January 6, 2026, the annual financial statements of the market town council took place in the Schlosserwirt. In addition to Mayor Florian A. Mayer, the spouses of the council members, department heads, assistants and representatives of the press were invited to this festive event. The event was characterized by a different design, which took place without the usual speeches from the parliamentary groups. Instead, there was a musical accompaniment and a visit from Santa Claus, which made the festival a special experience.
Mayor Florian A. Mayer took the opportunity to express his thanks to everyone present who has contributed to the positive development of Mering over the past almost six years. The mayor's two deputies and the oldest council member, Karl-Heinz Brunner, were particularly highlighted. He also expressed his thanks to the market town councils and the administration, who make an important contribution through their commitment.
Review and outlook
An important aspect of the evening was the reflection on the past term of office. Mayer made it clear that there were opportunities to make some debates shorter and meetings more effective. Nevertheless, the will to change was emphasized, which indicates a positive attitude. Looking ahead to 2026, he expressed hope that the community can continue to achieve similar successes as in previous years.
The festive design of the annual financial statements was significantly supported by the Bader family, who have already provided successful support at other major events, such as the community's 1000th anniversary and the anniversary of the town twinning. The anticipation of the challenges and opportunities of the new year is palpable and contributes to the positive mood.
